Who we are:<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Bible Church has been centered in Brigham City, Utah for over 70 years. Our focus is the expository studying and teaching of scripture, as we continue to seek sanctification through the study of God’s Holy Word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), the Bible Church subscribes to the stream of Christian theology that takes its name from the Reformers (\u201cReformed theology\u201d), as expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith together with the Larger and Shorter Catechisms (linked here<\/a>), and adopted by the PCA. We believe that God is sovereign; that humans are sinful and in need of salvation, and wholly incapable of earning favor from God; and God redeems his people through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Practically, we look to the \u201cordinary means of grace\u201d as the avenues by which God communicates His grace to His people. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God<\/strong>, without error in all that it claims, and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness, so that God’s people may be complete, equipped for every good work (II Timothy 3:16-17).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We believe that Jesus, for the growth of His church and of His people, instituted two Sacraments<\/strong>: baptism and the Lord\u2019s Supper (or \u201cCommunion\u201d). That baptism rightly declares the covenant promises of God for the recipient, and is thus rightly received by those who profess faith in Him, together with their children. We believe that in the Lord\u2019s Supper, though the elements do not change, Christ is himself really and spiritually present in them for those who receive by faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And we believe that God works through the prayer<\/strong> of His people to accomplish His purpose in the world, including the sanctification of those very people. Because we believe these to be the fundamental building blocks by which the Lord to works, individually and corporately, we structure our worship around them. We ensure that the largest portions of the service are given to the regular exposition of the Word; a time of extended prayer during the worship service; and the regular administration of the Sacraments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
